Our Christmas playlist 2025
The vibe we were after this year
At Waïloa, Christmas has a little mountain-meets-ocean twist: we picture a chalet overlooking snowy peaks rather than a brightly lit shopping mall. For the 2025 playlist, we looked for a balance between timeless classics and softer tracks, to accompany a studio photo shoot just as well as a Sunday spent wrapping presents.
The must-haves we couldn't skip
You can't make a Christmas playlist without the classics: Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" to open, of course, followed by Wham!'s "Last Christmas" and José Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad", a nod to both our Basque summers and our Pyrenean winters. We happily add Michael Bublé's version of "White Christmas" for that warm voice, plus a few more recent jazzy and pop versions that play on repeat through our speakers in December.
For the quieter moments
At the end of the day, when night falls early over the Pyrenees, we like to slip in acoustic versions and a few artists with a mellow vibe — perfect for a hot tea, a cozy blanket and a window looking out on the snow or the ocean horizon, depending on where you're reading us from.
Our selection, track by track
- "All I Want for Christmas Is You" — Mariah Carey
- "Last Christmas" — Wham!
- "Feliz Navidad" — José Feliciano
- "White Christmas" — Michael Bublé
- "Driving Home for Christmas" — Chris Rea
- "Santa Tell Me" — Ariana Grande
- "River" — Joni Mitchell, for a more melancholic touch at the end of the playlist
How we listen to it behind the scenes
This playlist plays in the background while we prepare orders, wrap gifts and shoot the new winter pieces. We also put it on repeat for the drives to the Christmas markets where we sometimes run a stall, between Bagnères-de-Bigorre and Tarbes.
A tradition we'd like to keep
We'd love to make this playlist a little annual ritual, a sound capsule of every Waïloa year-end. If you have track requests for the 2026 edition, we're all ears — we love getting ideas from you to build the next selection.
